    How to Play

Goal: Get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over.

    Card Values: Number cards = face value, Face cards (J, Q, K) = 10, Aces = 11 or 1

    Gameplay:

    • Place your bet using the chips
    • Click "Deal Cards" to start
    • Click "Hit" to get another card
    • Click "Stand" when you're satisfied with your hand
    • Double Down: Only available when your starting hand totals 9, 10, or 11. Double your bet to receive exactly one more card and automatically stand.
    • Split: If your first two cards have the same value, you can split them into two separate hands with equal bets. This includes pairs (like 8-8, Q-Q, A-A) and mixed 10-value cards (like 10-K, J-Q, or Q-K). You can even double down on each split hand!
    • Any two 10-point cards (10, J, Q, K) can be split – they all count as 10 in blackjack.
    • Insurance: When the dealer shows an Ace, you can bet up to half your original stake that the dealer has blackjack. Insurance pays 2-to-1 if the dealer gets blackjack.
    • Dealer must hit on 16 or less, stand on 17 or more

    Payouts:

    • BLACKJACK (Natural 21): Get an Ace + 10-value card on your first two cards and win 3-to-2! That's 1.5x your bet! 🎰
    • Regular Win: Beat the dealer without blackjack and win even money (1x your bet)
    • Insurance Win: If dealer has blackjack and you took insurance, it pays 2-to-1 on your insurance bet
    • Push: Tie with the dealer and your bet is returned

    Insurance Strategy:

    • When Offered: Insurance is only offered when the dealer shows an Ace (not when they show a 10-value card)
    • Even Money: If you have blackjack and the dealer shows an Ace, taking insurance guarantees you win even money (1-to-1) immediately - you don't have to wait to see if the dealer has blackjack
    • Going for 3:2: If you decline insurance with blackjack, you either win 3-to-2 (if dealer doesn't have blackjack) or push (if dealer has blackjack)
    • Mathematical Reality: Insurance is generally considered a bad bet by experts - the odds are 9-to-4 against the dealer having blackjack, but it only pays 2-to-1
    • House Edge: Taking insurance increases the house advantage - skilled players typically decline it unless counting cards

    Pro Tips:

    • Blackjack (natural 21) pays 3-to-2, making it the most valuable hand!
    • If both you and dealer have blackjack, it's a push (tie)
    • Double Down is only allowed on 9, 10, or 11, and is most profitable when dealer shows 6 or less!
    • After splitting, you can still get blackjack on each hand for the 3-to-2 bonus!
    • Insurance might seem tempting, but mathematically it's usually better to decline
    • Only take "Even Money" if you want a guaranteed win - risk-takers go for the full 3:2!
