Get ready for the world's most glamorous Formula 1 race on the Las Vegas Strip

Formula 1 racing came to the Las Vegas Strip in November 2023, creating one of the most spectacular racing events in the world. The race runs through the heart of the city at speeds exceeding 200 mph.

The 3.8-mile circuit includes a stunning straightaway down the Las Vegas Strip past iconic casinos. Drivers race at night under the neon lights, creating unique challenges and breathtaking visuals. The track includes 17 turns and three main straightaways.

Race weekend spans three days with practice sessions Thursday, qualifying Friday, and the main race Saturday night. The race starts at 10pm Pacific time, running 50 laps for a total race distance of 190 miles.

Ticket options range from general admission standing room ($500+) to luxury hospitality suites ($10,000+). Main grandstands offer views of the start/finish line and multiple turns. The Bellagio Fountain Club provides the most luxurious experience with gourmet dining and premium viewing.

The race significantly impacts Strip traffic and access. Many roads close days before the race, with some casino entrances restricted. Visitors should plan transportation carefully and expect increased rideshare prices and wait times.

Hotels along the racing circuit charge premium rates during race weekend, often 3-5 times regular prices. Rooms with track views command highest premiums. Book early or stay off-Strip for better value.

Beyond the race itself, F1 weekend features concerts, parties, and special events throughout the city. The paddock area and Paddock Club offer closest access to teams and drivers for those with high-end tickets.

Las Vegas is one of three U.S. races on the F1 calendar, joining Miami and Austin. The night race format and Strip location make Vegas uniquely spectacular.

The inaugural 2023 race faced some challenges with track surface issues, but the event is expected to improve in future years. The race is scheduled to remain in Las Vegas through at least 2030.
